Our refresh service is designed for floor where the polyurethane coating is still in-tact (the coating hasn’t worn through exposing raw timber). This is because our Timber Refresh coating needs polyurethane to adhere to, and won’t seal raw or exposed timber. Timber refinish is perfect for floor where the coating has worn away in areas. Our Timber Refinish service is the only possible alternative to sanding for worn floors
The timber refresh services takes approximately 45 minutes per standard room including the cleaning and coating. The floor can usually be walked on 90 minutes after the service is complete but we recommend wearing socks for the first day. Furniture can be returned after 2 hours and rugs after 3 days. We strongly recommend placing new felt pads underneath each of item of furniture before replacing the furniture on your refreshed floor
As we walk on the floor, small particles of grit rub against the coating on the floor causing mirco-scratches and abrasions. These micro-scratches stop light from reflecting off the floor, causing the floor to look dull. The same happens when strong cleaning products are used on the floor, softening the finish. Timber Refresh fills in these micro-scratches, allowing light to reflect off the floor evenly, restoring the floors original sheen.
Yes, the Timber Refresh system will make your floor last longer and extend the time between sanding services. Timber Refresh starts with a deep clean to remove built-up dirt and the residue from cleaning products from your floor. This makes your floor easier to clean and remove dirt that would otherwise scratch the finish, extending the life of your floor. The Timber Refresh coating bonds to the existing coating on your floor enhancing its’ appearance and improving longevity.
Timber Refresh will smooth out and minimise scratches, but not remove them. You will find that small scratches will become very hard to see and larger scratches will become less noticeable.
Timber refinish uses a unique type of urethane that adhears to the existing coating on the floor and seal uncoated timber. This technology enables us to refinish worn floors without the need for sanding. We can also build toners (colours) into the urethane to add colour to the floor and hide damage/imperfections. The system is about must more than just the product. It involves careful preparation and the use of timber stain to blend the colour of the exposed timber with the rest of the floor.
You can walk on the floor within an hour, wearing socks for the first 48 hours. You can replace your furniture that evening, taking care to place the furniture, not drag the furniture. We strongly recommend applying new felt pads before replacing moving any furniture back. Rugs can be replaced after 10 days with rug protectors placed under the rug.
The not happy, don’t pay guarantee applies only to the Timber Refinish service. If you are not happy with the final result in a room or area (up to 14 square metres) we won’t charge you for that area. If you’re not happy with the area then you must advise us before the final coat is applied. If we can’t successfully address your concern, then you don’t pay for that area.
Timber refresh achieves amazing results on any floor with a polyurethane coating. This includes wood floors, engineered or floating wood floors, bamboo floors and cork floors. We also have a variation for oiled timber floors.
Yes, we can clean and coat any sort of laminate or vinyl floor. Our service on vinyl and laminate floors includes a deep clean to remove dirt, grime and scuff marks followed by multiple coats of a commercial sealer to restore the floors protect the floor and restore the floors original sheen
