FAQs

  • Is it expensive to run?

No. As there are no electronics or aerators, the power consumption is minimal.

  • Does a sand filter require quarterly servicing?

No. A sand filter only requires an annual service. Not like aerated mechanical treatment systems which do require quarterly servicing. This will save you a considerable amount of money.

  • What products can I use in a sand filter system?

Most products will have "Septic Safe" shown on their labelling if they are appropriate to use in a septic system. As with any septic system, it is the bacterial micro-organisms in the system that provides the treatment process. No harsh chemicals or bleaches should be used as these are anti-bacteria and made to kill bacteria. No fats or oils should be allowed into the system as these can clog and damage the treatment process.

  • Do you service my area?

Valley Septics installs wastewater septic systems from Melbourne's Eastern suburbs through to East Gippsland and South down to the coastal areas of South Gippsland, Bass Coast and everywhere in between.
