Testamonials

"Dear Paul,

Just a short note to let you know how impressed I was with your service last week [Tuesday July 28th]. I was able to contact you personally on your advertised number. You gave me an appointment for the following day. I was contacted by phone beforehand and the appointment was kept and on time. The plumber that you sent was a great young guy, who was extremely confident and professional in his job, was a pleasure to do business with, and fixed all of my problems with minimum fuss."

FAQs

  • Can I fix my dripping tap?

Of course, most of the time the cause of a dripping tap is about 80% of the time due to the seat needing to be re machined, which requires a tool that most people do not have in their home. It could also be that the washers in the tap need replacing.

  • Do I need to worry if my hot water system drips water constantly?

Yes. This is a waste of electricity and or gas. If leaking is coming from the case of the unit itself, it generally means that the cylinder inside the unit has ruptured. This means a whole new unit may be required. If the leak is coming out of a valve then this means that the valve may need to be replaced.

  • Is a slow-draining sink or shower something to be concerned about?

Yes, it is most probably a blocked pipe. If the pipes are the old galvanised pipes it is generally better and more cost effective to replace them with a new PVC waste pipe.

  • Whenever I operate the taps, there is a loud clunking sound. Is this a plumbing problem?

Yes. It is commonly known as water hammer and it is most generally able to be rectified.

  • Sometimes my toilet cistern needs the flush button pressed many times to stop it leaking into the bowl?

This can be a quite a common problem in older cisterns, the ball float may just need adjusting. Every toilet cistern has an inlet valve and an outlet valve, they both have washers and rubbers in them that do need replacing.
